Ave was in the hospital last week.....
It has been a crazy few days... Avery was in the hospital last week. She had an allergic reaction to something we don't know, on Wednesday. she started with a rash on her neck and within minutes it was all over her face and she swelled up so bad, her lip looked like it was going to burst, this all happened on our way to Primary Health in Eagle, The roads were a mess because we had a snow day that day and got pounded with snow! School was canceled it was awesome! We got to the DR at Primary Health and he took one look at the swollen little girl and said go to St Al’s ER right across the street now! oh my that had my heart racing, well Trevs too! We walked right in, by this time her eyes were so swollen shut that we couldn't see her eye balls, it was scary, ears, cheeks nose, lips and eyes were all swollen they looked like they were going to BURST. they immediately gave her an shot of an epi-pen, hooked her up to IVS and had Benadryl and a steroid in here all with in minutes, it was so scary I was holding her, starting to cry, Trev was trying to tell the DR about the last hour and how it all happened. She was screaming and yelling, I was trying to hold her still! AH! We called Monica and Joe, Trevs sister and brother in law they brought us clothes and Joe brought oil and Trev gave her a blessing, it was awesome, I was so comforted after that, still scared but not as bad. I am so grateful for my husband who holds the priesthood and for a brother in law who could come help at a moments notice. The Dr said you have to stay the night but we can't keep you here you have to be transported in an ambulance to St Lukes in Downtown Boise, where Avery was born. They don't keep patients there over night they are strictly a ER no hospital. So me and Avery got to ride in the ambulance for a half hour. She had to be trapped down into stretcher. I sat right beside her, she actually started to talk to me which she hadn't for awhile. It was pretty cute, Trev stopped and bought her new favorite movie which we don't have its called UP, she calls it Grandpa Flying cause the grandpa flies in a hot air balloon. So we got there and went up to our room on the 4th floor, they had to have her stay in a crib, they gave her all sorts of stuff, from blankets to coloring books, to any food she wanted and etc... The steroid they gave her makes her very hyper Me and Trev tried to sleep on 2 different chairs, they were not comfy at all it was a long night. Averys DR came in and woke us up at 8:30 am! He checked her out and said she looks great and she did, all her hives/rash was gone and all the swelling was gone. He said we could go home early afternoon. They have a playroom at the hospital that me and Trev took turns taking her there. She loved it, she never wanted to leave, there were all sorts of fun things to do. Then around 11 am the rash/hives came back worse they freaked us out so we called the nurse in and we could just watch the rash move all over her body, it was weird. So the DR came back in and said he would come back around dinner time and see how it was going. So we had to keep her entertained with the playroom and food for a bit longer. He finally came back why she was eating Mac and cheese and said I am comfortable with sending you home, all we are doing here is giving her Benadryl and the steroid which we can send home with you! so we packed up our room and headed to Walmart to get her prescriptions which took an hour and 45 mins, i was so frustrated! We made it home late Thursday night. When we got home her rash was the worse we had ever seen from being cooped up in her car seat. We took turns waking up each hour that night to make sure her swelling was gone and she was breathing! Glad we are home, just watching her closely.
In the ER looking better than she did!
Her Daddy bought her a balloon! She loved being hauled around in this wagon!
YUMMY food, she loved it all... She didn't want to come home!

THAT IS SOOOO SCARY. I am so sorry that happened. I imagine myself being a TOTAL freak out in situations like that. Hope she is doing okay.
Poor thing. I've been thinking about you lots. Sorry I haven't called. I hope you are all surviving!
Oh POOR THING! It is so scary to see your baby in distress, and have to just step back and let the nurses and doctors do their job. I'm sorry you had to go through that. I'm glad you at least know how to manage it. Hopefully you can figure out what she's allergic to so you can prevent it from happening again.
How scary!!! I'm glad she's doing better!
